Our Philosophy

Sustainability, Conservation and Green Building Aspects

Lake Nest Bolgoda Resort is located on the luscious banks of the Bolgoda Lake which is the largest natural lake in Sri Lanka. With this lake-front location comes a responsibility to conserve and sustain Bolgoda's natural beauty and our self imposed obligation to reduce the waste of resources. Everything from the foundations of the building to the day-to-day running of the resort is designed with this in mind.

The entire resort's hot water production is done through our sophisticated roof-top solar heating solution. The majority of Lake Nest is illuminated by LED lighting, reducing 80% of conventional power consumption. The added bonus of near-zero heat emission reduces the night air-conditioning requirements by 30%. Key tag activated isolators terminate the total power to each room when left unoccupied. Sewage and liquid waste are treated before disposal via an on-site STP. Waste is colour separated and passed on to authorities for recycling/disposal in an environmentally friendly manner.

Our History

Serving you since 2006

Lake Nest had its first foundation stone laid in 2005. The vision was for a reception hall and restaurant to cater for weddings and events. In 2006 construction was completed and a soft-opening was held in what is now the main banquet hall. To accommodate demand, 2008 saw the start of Phase 2 - a 3 storey accommodation complex consisting of 29 Rooms, Swimming pool, additional indoor and outdoor restaurants, lawns / gardens and rooftop terraces. Phase 2 was completed in 2009.
